Project Ecomare.
Created by Base Games; Me, Damla Cetin, Katarzyna Antonowicz, Maarten Laan and Geertruida Visser.
Programmed in Game Maker 8.1 Standard
Project Ecomare is a set of 3 minigames: Grote Vangst (Big Catch), Visdief (Common Tern) and Heremiet de Grote Held (Hermit Hero). All of the art was made in Illustrator. The shark was made in Flash.
Art for the tern, tilesets and backgrounds were made by me, and the whole project was programmed by me in Game Maker.
This game was going to be playable on the ferry of Ecomare that sails between Den Helder and Texel, but the game didn't meet the standards due to communication errors.

A personal project to add to my portfolio.
The target audience is the female gamer, but guys should be able to play this without shame. It's also a bit feminist-friendly, though intentionally, since I decided to break the usual damsel-in-distress cliche and switch the genders.
This game's protagonist is Princess Princess, based on Bouncy Cat's namesake. She is designed so girls want to be her. She's not your usual airhead kidnappee/sexdoll.
The gameplay is similar to a shoot-em-up/platformer, without the screen scrolling. Each level contains an enemy wave followed by a unique boss. Princess is not without aid as each level has its own assist (the king of the respective kingdom), each with their own special attacks etc.
This game is a work in progress and has no deadline.

Bouncy Cat Mao

Bouncy Cat Mao is a prequel to Bouncy Cat and a 'response' to the feedback recieved on Bouncy Cat.
The game only uses the mouse and left button, which means that it's even playable on a tablet. Levels are made to fit the screen for easy navigation and are short, but challenging.
All of the art was made in Adobe Illustrator, inclusive animations in frames.

Bouncy Cat (Hazumu no Neko)

Bouncy Cat is a pixel art platform game that's played with keyboard (WASD or direction keys) and mouse. The core element of the game is to cross gaps by bouncing.
The game recieved mixed responses at the Festival of Games (NLGD) and the Indigo in Utrecht, mainly positive ones. However, because it was created in Game Maker, no portal wanted to host the game and YoYoGames rejected it for being pixel art. It's a bitter lesson learned.
I programmed the game and took care of music and sound. Together with Geertruida, we created the art.

This game was created in 2009 as part of the Custom Clash trilogy based on my own character, Splot.
The game's core mechanic is keyboard and mouse play. You walk with the keys and jump and fire with the mouse, aiming with the mouse in both instances.
The first Custom Clash game was all about Mouse Only Platforming, but proved to be tedious and hard to control. The keyboard controls were added to Custom Clash 2 for a more controlled feel.
